Author note: I must admit, as an individual entrenched within the very fabric of the Star Nest, my view might be considered partial, if not somewhat biased. Growing up amidst the bustling streets, vibrant markets, and under the shimmering glow of the night sky, I have imbibed the essence of this nest—its traditions, its evolutions, its essence. My experiences, interwoven with the tales passed down through generations, have undoubtedly shaped my lens. Yet, herein lies the paradox—the very bias that taints objectivity might also grant me a lens of unparalleled intimacy, offering a perspective enriched by lived experiences, shared anecdotes, and a profound emotional connection to the subject at hand. While I strive for impartiality in my examination, I cannot deny the influence of my upbringing and personal ties within the Star Nest's cultural fabric.

Overview of Starrian Practices
The Star Nest's culture is a captivating tapestry woven from the threads of tradition, innovation, and a reverence for celestial bodies. Throughout its history, the nest has undergone a metamorphosis in cultural practices, influenced greatly by trade and the influx of new ideas and resources. This influx has fuelled a shift in the day-to-day lives of the citizens, altering the way they perceive tradition and heritage.
Originally, the Star Nest held fire in deep reverence, considering the processes of smelting and cremation as sacred rituals. Funerary rites were once tightly entwined with these practices. Blacksmiths, who were believed to channel the power of a mythical creator forging stars and the world, were highly esteemed. It was believed that the furnaces must never extinguish, and specific furnaces were dedicated to burning offerings or wishes. However, the onset of industrial and technological advancements reshaped the beliefs of the citizens, leading to a transition in their worship from fire to the cosmos. Now, the focus has shifted towards celestial bodies, with a profound veneration for stars, moons, and sun. Celestial events and their interpretations hold immense significance in the new age of traditions.
Certain cultural elements have remained unaltered despite these shifts. The Star Nest citizens have an enduring fondness for materials like gold, silver, and platinum, valuing items of exceptional craftsmanship. Parents traditionally gift newborns with bracelets or necklaces to bestow luck upon them, regardless of their financial status. These items often have a long lineage, passed down through generations, and their significance is deeply ingrained in the culture. Some families preserve these possessions until the birth of the caeli's first grandchild or their death. Even in times of hardship, parting with these cherished heirlooms is a significant emotional struggle for many.
The cultural practices of the Star Nest reflect a rich tapestry of change and continuity, a fusion of ancient traditions with evolving ideologies brought about by progress and external influences. These practices serve not only as a means of expressing identity but also as a link to the nest's storied past.
Starrian Achievements
Under the illustrious reign of Queen Zalik, the crowning achievement within the Star Nest was crafted — the magnificent Celestial Archive. A sanctum to those seeking knowledge, and a place where all can enter as equals under the stars. Perched atop this grand institution lies the Astral Dome of Aquila, a beacon of the Nest's celestial reverence and technological prowess, a testament to the unrivalled craftsmanship of the Star Nest Caeli. This dome, embracing the night sky, showcases the Nest's capacity to craft instruments to document and explore the celestial expanse. Imbued with celestial motifs delicately etched into its translucent surfaces, the Astral Dome illuminates in a mesmerizing spectacle as starlight dances across its structure.
This celestial sanctuary is multifaceted—a cradle of learning and a shrine of reverence. The Stellarium nestled within serves not just as an observatory but also as a celestial altar. Here, scholars and stargazers convene, drawn by the allure of unravelling the enigmas that the cosmos presents. A marvel of architecture, the Archive stands as a celestial homage—a testament to the pursuit of wisdom and the cosmic forces guiding the Nest's citizens.
A Touch of Politics
In the long chronicles of the Star Nest, it has not always been a tale of tranquillity and prosperity. Beneath the surface, the nest is marked by a classist society with internal disputes that once escalated into a harrowing civil war. Until this day, deep-rooted bloodlines flow through the veins of noble houses, each harbouring its loyalties and secrets. Within the expanse of the Nest, the echoes of political factions and disputes resound, each striving for the coveted attention and favour of the esteemed Monarch Queen Zalik. She, the Brilliant Mother, wields her decisions with an iron fist, a force that has held the fragile balance in the Nest. Without her firm hand, the factions would be perilously close to tearing each other asunder.
Among these factions, the Ophiuchi lineage holds steadfast, loyal to the early Queen, advocating for a pro-nationalist stance against trade with the Marsh nest, and placing unwavering belief in the might of military power. Their presence symbolizes a commitment to preserving the Nest's sovereignty. In contrast, the Copernicus Circle challenges the status-quo with a different ideology. They champion a vision of celestial might through cultural and religious practices, standing as a testament to diplomatic finesse and open trade in order to further their own ideologies. Their influence reaches nearly every school of thought and Stellarium in the land. Lastly, the most recent Evenfall Guild, its power unionized and firmly gripping the Twilight Harbour, holds sway over the ships and boats essential for the trade and transport of the mineral goods the star produces. Here, in the quiet undertones, plots unfold and power is fiercely contested, even within the guild.
In the dangerous ballet of politics, where subtle machinations and overt power plays intertwine, the Star Nest teeters on the precipice. The past whispers its tales of strife, and the future remains uncertain, as the Nest grapples with the undertones of plots that could either subtly shape its destiny or violently end its' glorious reign.
